Workplacement

Work placement stands for practical training: learning by doing. It is an important part of each VET-qualification in the Netherlands. It guarantees a smooth transition from VET school to a real position within the labour market.

The quality of the work placement company is a very important aspect. The Netherlands’ educational legislation stipulates therefore that companies that train and supervise participants under the preparatory secondary vocational education (VMBO) and senior secondary vocational education (MBO) have to obtain a so-called accreditation from one of the Centres of Expertise. This means accreditation for the fact that these companies offer a good and safe working and learning environment and the correct supervision.
