International Credential Evaluation

SBB is appointed by the Ministry of Education as the Expertise Centre for International Credential Evaluation. The department for credential evaluation within the SBB carries out several legal tasks, such as International Credential Evaluation, Information Centre for the Recognition of Professional VET Qualifications, National Reference Point for VET and development of (Europass) Certificate Supplements.

The department for credential evaluation of the SBB can compare your diploma that was awarded in a foreign country with the Dutch qualifications of vocational education.

National Reference Point

SBB is also the National Reference Point (NRP) for VET in the Netherlands. The NRP is the contact point for those in search of information on vocational education in the Netherlands and other European countries.

The European Union has instructed all member states to establish a NRP. The Dutch Ministry of Education has appointed Colo. NRP Netherlands is part of the European network of NRPs. The objective of this network is to increase the transparency of national qualifications, which will promote the study and employment mobility within the EU.

This website is the first step for finding information on vocational education in the Netherlands. It may also serve as a stepping-stone for finding information on, and making contact with, European partner organizations.
